Purpose
Provide receptionist, clerical and front office support in University Health Services, primarily in Patient Access, Sports Medicine, and Urgent Care clinics.
Responsibilities
Front office duties, such as check-in/check-out of students for appointments; scheduling health appointments; answering a multi-line phone; managing day-to-day front office and front desk duties; send correspondence via secure message to students.
Collect and verify insurance information and enter it in EHR; scan insurance cards; process record release requests and other duties assigned. Exhibits exceptional customer service behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Five years of experience with clerical functions working in the front office of a healthcare/medical facility. Experience collecting/verifying health insurance information. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a professional demeanor. Accuracy in grammar and punctuation. Outstanding organizational skills. Attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision. Flexibility with shifting priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Regular and punctual attendance. Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective.
Preferred Qualifications
More than the required years of experience with clerical functions. Certificate of completion of Medical Assistant program. Experience working in the front office of a healthcare/medical clinic. Experience using Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Word, Excel software and Windows environment. Experience working in a student health center.
Hourly Rate
$22.35
Working Conditions
Attire: Business Casual
Shirts/pants or scrubs, closed-toe shoes, additional working conditions: walking; provide surgical masks and hand sanitizer; provide a working environment where mask-wearing is optional for staff.
Work Shift
Hours per week - 40
The work schedule is from 8 to 5
