Principal Product Designer
MicrosoftAbout the role
We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer to lead the design vision for next-generation Calendar + Copilot experiences. You’ll craft solutions that help users manage and automate key workflows that organize their time, schedule events, and collaborate with others into a seamless Calendar experience. Your work will span from refining today’s time management interfaces to imagining bold, AI-powered futures that make users more empowered and productive at work. You’ll design for scale and elegance: end-to-end workflows that feel intuitive, personalized, and connected across Microsoft 365. Think beyond screens: explore how AI agents, predicative workflows, and conversational interfaces can transform how people plan, prioritize, and collaborate daily. From enabling dynamic “next best actions” to creating experiences that feel like a personalized executive assistant, your designs will help bring delight to our customers, making technology feel like a thought partner, not a tool.
Experiences 365 (X3) is building the next generation of AI-powered productivity experiences—designed around real customer needs and grounded in trust. Our Design, Research & Content team is a vibrant creative community passionate about shaping how people work in the AI era.
We bring together deep customer insight, strong craft, and thoughtful collaboration to deliver experiences that are meaningful, polished, and impactful at global scale. As part of a large, diverse organization, you’ll work within close-knit teams that value partnership, curiosity, and high standards—supported by the reach, resources, and influence of a robust design community.
We believe great experiences are built through research, evidence, and iteration, and we ship often—so your work will reach customers quickly and make a tangible difference. What we build, and how we build it, matters. The products we create will help define productivity in the AI era, and earning user trust is central to everything we do.
Our Core Values:
- Quality. We deliver category-defining experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and beautifully coherent. Craft matters, and excellence is the bar.
- Simplicity. We don’t overcomplicate. We focus on what matters most and design with clarity, restraint, and purpose.
- Safety & Trust. Security, privacy, and trust are non-negotiable. We hold ourselves to the highest standards to earn and keep customer confidence.
- Learning & Judgment. We pay close attention to signals, data, and real-world outcomes—and we adapt when they point us in a better direction. We value long-term impact over short-term metrics.
- Kindness. We show up with empathy and respect for one another. We support growth, learn from mistakes, and believe great work comes from healthy, inclusive teams.
Our Design Principles:
- Create Magical Moments
- Guide the Journey
- Always be Earning Trust
- Sweat the Details
- Be in Service to Customers
This is a chance to shape a system that is not just functional but inspiring, where creativity meets data, and design becomes the engine for trust, productivity, and growth.
