About the role

INTERNAL ANNOUNCEMENT - Applicants must be a current, active Pikes Peak State College employee within the 2025 calendar year, any capacity.

The COSI Finish What You Started (FWYS) Lead Coach will assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of activities designed to support the academic success of COSI FWYS scholarship recipients. The Lead Coach will lead a team in support of a cohort of students in achieving their academic and career goals. The Lead Coach will ensure that COSI FWYS scholarship recipients comply with the requirements of the scholarship. The FWYS Lead Coach will provide guidance and support via a variety of initiatives including personal coaching, academic mentoring, group facilitation, and referrals to other on and off campus resources. The Lead Coach will employ principles of High Impact Practices in their work and will direct students to High Impact Learning opportunities. The FWYS Lead Coach will supervise and organize the other coaches, ensure the team fulfills their goals, and that they comply with the COSI FWYS grant requirements.

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date on or before June 30, 2026.

Multi-year grants are funded based on the fiscal years for the full grant period. However, there is no guarantee that funding is available year after year from the awarding agencies. Employment with the college after each grant-funded period is not assured.

Grant-funded positions cannot guarantee a payout of leave benefits. Grant-funded employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to schedule and utilize annual leave benefits during each grant fiscal year.

Grant funded positions may be eligible for annual increases contingent upon awarded yearly grant budgets and a satisfactory performance evaluation.

Reports to: Associate Vice President of Academic Resource

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Two years of professional level experience in COSI grant related success coaching, academic advising, or enrollment services.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed  Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in counseling, student affairs, or related field.
  • Three years of professional experience working directly with community college students.
  • Demonstrated grant related success coaching and case management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using an enrollment and advising system (such as Banner or EAB Navigate), a learning management system (such as D2L), or similar student/client information system.
  • Demonstrated experience in public speaking, teaching, facilitating workshops, or small group facilitation.

Must be a State of Colorado resident or able to relocate to Colorado prior to first date of employment.  All work must be performed in the State of Colorado.
