Who We Are

HII - Mission Technologies is seeking BFTT Field Engineer to join our Fleet Sustainment group! This is a full time role located at Dam Neck Annex. As a BFTT Technical Support Field Engineer you will support U.S. Navy shipboard integrated training systems and provide instruction, engineering, systems integration and life-cycle support for the Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT) family of training devices.

What You Will Do

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

What You Must Have

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must have expert knowledge on Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT), Training Simulator/Stimulator SubSystem (TSSS) systems and Advanced Training Domain (ATD)
  • Must have expert knowledge in designing and building ICP/IP’s
  • Must have knowledge of all phases of systems engineering for the specific purpose of organizing, directing and leading technical efforts in the concept formulation, project planning and project engineering.
  • Must have experience in networking standards, architecture, protocols and systems as it applies to training/testing devices, simulation, simulators and instrumentation.
  • Must have professional engineering experience in analysis, design, development, integration and test of military systems and knowledgeable in system architecture and domain engineering.
  • Must have experience supervising or leading multi-disciplined or matrix teams, with specialized experience in engineering disciplines or technical areas (such as visual, C4I, software, firmware, maintenance management, logistics engineering). 

Bonus Points For...

  • Preferred knowledge in troubleshooting VME and ATX Chassis
  • Preferred level of knowledge sufficient to support LBTS tasks and functions
  • Connector certified preferred

Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
