Function Overview

Nomura's Global Markets department provides liquidity, market insights, and execution services to clients worldwide across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. • Associate or VP member focusing on origination and execution of Equity Solutions (including Equity-Linked) transactions in the Asia Pacific ex-Japan region for key client types, such as private equity funds, corporates, major shareholders and family offices, both using direct relationships within the team and utilizing the broader network of origination/sales channels within Nomura

• Role will cover Equity Derivatives and Equity Financing against investments in listed and/or unlisted companies whether on an individual basis or as a basket, as well as originating convertible bonds and exchangeable bond issuance from corporate clients

 

Responsibilities

• Origination and ideation through regular dialogue with clients, Sales/bankers and review of market news

• Collaborate with and educate Sales teams, Wealth Management and IBD bankers on Equity Solutions transactions

• Produce presentation materials for client pitches across various Equity Solutions structures, and for other internal / external marketing

• Conduct internal and external discussions to support and engage in the analysis of transactions, by collaborating with various internal functions including Trading, Risk, Operations and Legal.  Manage multiple projects across different stages

• Ongoing monitoring of existing positions

• Ensure compliance with various internal and external policies

 

Requirements

• Minimum a Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited university

• 5 -7 years of experience in the financial markets, ideally from Corporate Equity Derivatives / Equity Solutions / Equity-Linked background

• Experience facing clients and covering financial products such as equity or equity derivative products is key

• A strong working knowledge of financial and non-financial risks that need to be managed and monitored by the bank.
