Job Type: Full Time

Duties: Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. Work closely with business stakeholders throughout the company to identify opportunities, understand requirements, and translate those requirements into technical solutions. Conduct projects end-to-end from early-stage research through development, leveraging expertise in data science, machine learning and statistics. Implement and optimize state of the art algorithms in distributed computing environments. Collaborate with data engineers and platform architects to integrate solutions into the company’s platform. Ensure operational and business metric health by monitoring and analyzing data quality and products’ performance. Communicate with stakeholders to understand their problems, requirements, and goals. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources, design projects, make project plans, and produce time and effort estimations for all phases of a project. Extract, integrate and clean the data, conduct data analysis to build a deep understanding of raw source data and derived data, discover patterns in large-scale data, and research ways to utilize the patterns. Conduct research on machine learning, statistical modeling and graph algorithms. Define and design appropriate models and frameworks to solve technology and business problems. Implement and optimize algorithms in distributed computing environment for production. Continually monitor the metrics of production jobs, investigate root causes if any abnormalities are detected. Supervise interns and guide junior team members in their tasks such as performing data analysis and designing algorithms.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Ph.D degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field followed by two years of experience in the job offered or two years of experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience in each of the following:

Machine learning
Statistical modeling
Data analysis
Graph algorithms
Python programming
Scala programming
SQL
Shell scripting
Spark library programming
Hive
Git

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
