About the role

Our Electrical Maintenance Team, composed of 31 people, is integrated within the Surface Maintenance Department and focuses on the design, construction, maintenance, and reliability of high, medium, and low-voltage electrical systems in an industrial chemical plant.

As an Electrical Supervisor, you will work designing, constructing, maintaining, and ensuring the reliability of these systems to support our operations. This job is a critical contributor to the surface maintenance department leadership team and reports to the Surface Maintenance Superintendent. This role provides direct supervision to Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Foreman, Process Control Foreman and E&I Engineer.
You will be accountable for
- Creating a safety culture within the team through clear expectations, positive reinforcement of safe work via in-field observations and providing a safe and clean work environment.
- Directing training and development of E&I resources through technical education, on the job training and coaching focused on safe and efficient work execution. Specifically responsible for assessing and directing development of leaders within the I/E organization.

Directing all maintenance and engineering activity within the scope of the surface plant E&I function. This will include both routine maintenance activity and improvement projects. Specifically, performing proactive audits and inspection on equipment and directing correction of any deficiencies. Plus design, approval, installation and commissioning of electrical improvement projects. Must assure that the E&I Team is appropriately staffed to meet business needs and approves selection of external electrical contactors and consulting engineering staff as required.

Driving process, practice and skills innovations within E&I Team in support of the company maintenance excellence program (Solmax) focused on Safety, Volume and Productivity goals. By assuring effective planning and coordination of E&I maintenance activities with a continual focus on improvement of employee productivity. Proactively driving reliability improvements through elimination of bad actors, and assuring preventive and predictive maintenance programs are efficient, effective and executed per schedule.

About you

Relevant education degree or equivalent in Electrical & Controls Engineering

Relevant work experience: 10+ years in heavy industry with in-plant engineering and maintenance leadership experience desired.
