General Description: 

Gifted with an entrepreneurial spirit and adept relationship-building skills, the VP, Global Corporate Development is tasked with advancing business opportunities through new corporate partnerships and grant foundations, as well as elevating revenue from existing strategic partners. 


In this capacity, the VP will formulate and execute strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration with corporate giving partners to amplify OSI's impact. The focus includes augmenting revenue from corporate CSR and employee giving, as well as steering grant applications toward corporate foundations, family foundations, and mid-size grant foundations.


Integral to this role is collaboration with colleagues across the Global Development team, Partner Country network, and teams in LAC and APAC to optimize partnership opportunities. Additionally, the VP will engage with internal teams to craft restricted funding proposals, grant reports, and develop content and communication assets that support and expand partnerships. 


Essential Functions: 

Business Development

  • Research and develop a prospect pipeline of Grant and Corporate Foundations across various industries within the United States.
  • Identify priority prospects and conduct well-planned meetings with prospective donors, articulating Operation Smile’s mission and explaining the Case for Support in a concise and compelling manner that increases awareness and enthusiasm.
  • Work in collaboration with Business development unit to build multiyear restricted grant proposals
  • Regularly schedule meetings with prospective donors to ensure strong relationship building and educate on Operation Smile initiatives. 
  • Work in collaboration with the SVP of Strategy and Global Development to create multi-year revenue projections. 
  •  Work with Finance and the Data & Analytics team for regular revenue reporting.
  • Responsible for reporting programmatic updates and outcomes for restricted grants.
  • Liaise with Global Marketing to maximize partnership visibility and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Data & Analytics for revenue tracking. 
  • Develop presentations to update internal stakeholders on new Corporate and Grant Foundations growth.
  • Year 1 Revenue target from new business is 500K USD

Strategic Corporate Partnerships Oversight and Growth

  • Expand the relationship with our Strategic Corporate Partners and secure +20% cash revenue in year one. 
  • Increase the opportunities for in person meetings and field visit with Strategic Partners Executives.  
  • Facilitate Strategic Partners recurring meetings with key external stakeholders to achieve partnership objectives. 
  • Collaborate with the Global Marketing team to provide our Strategic Partners the necessary communication assets to support their fundraising commitment and partnership visibility (Annual Toolkit and Key Milestones). 
  • Oversee and expand Strategic Partners Employee Giving programs. 
  • Liaise with Partner and Program Countries to make sure we act in sync and speak with one voice to our Strategic Partners. 
  • Liaise with Global Operations and Global Marketing teams for Contracts & Content Releases. 
  • Work closely with Business Development Unit, Program and Global Medical Education teams to build multiyear funding proposals for restricted grants and reports. 
  • Collaborate with Finance and Data & Analytics for revenue tracking and grant reporting. 
  • Develop presentations to update internal stakeholders on our Strategic Partnerships. 
Requirements

Experience Required (education/work):

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years in a leadership role, preferably in the nonprofit sector. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, grant management, or financial management in a nonprofit or international development organization.
  • Experience in financial oversight and budget management, particularly related to grant-funded projects.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • This position may require travel (domestic or international) up to 30% of the time.
  • Experience managing and communicating expectations across different cultures.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
