About the role
Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Work closely with the maintenance and management team to coordinate all the resources available
on/for all production shifts, to develop an efficient, effective operation by developing each maintenance
employee to their highest potential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and enforce policies and procedures as applicable.
- Ensure that maintenance and all areas are a safe environment, free from hazards and promote and enforce all safety policies
- Manage the resources on all shifts to achieve the expected outcome for scheduled production.
- Communicate with production supervisor, crew leaders and technicians if machines are down, how long and when they will be back up.
- Knowledge of task to be completed for the day, week, month & year.
- Facilitate daily shift-to-shift meetings with crew leaders & maintenance team
- Encourage and promote the culture of cooperation and teamwork among the Maintenance team.
- Enforce all company policies, guidelines, and programs fairly and equitably
- Contribute to the annual company goals set forth for each review year. Personal contributions and personal goals must be coordinated to align with the company overall goals.
- Continuously analyze daily performance, staffing and downtime in order to maximize response time to production changes, utilize personnel effectively and to reduce loss to the company.
- Staffing for the day
- Downtime – know the target downtime level
- Scrap – know the target scrap level
- Paperwork / Data - monitoring continuously throughout day
- Work with Engineering as to new equipment installation & new processes & help to facilitate them through to completion.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience performing maintenance, preventative maintenance and service work on production equipment.
- Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software, as well as project development technical and scheduling software.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge gained through on the job training of company products, policies, and procedures
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Skill in operating various equipment as needed to perform the job
- Skill in multitasking and time management
- Ability to effectively manage personnel of varying skills and disciplinary backgrounds
- Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments
- Ability to keep company and customer information that is discussed or viewed while under employment with Truvant confidential
- Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communication
- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
- Must be able to reach, touch, grasp
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push
- Must be able to conduct yourself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor
- Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products.
- Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 75 pounds
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- 0-25% - Travel may be required to support business needs
