Its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.</p> <p>KROC CENTER HAWAII VISION: Kroc Center Hawaii will be a dynamic and flourishing gathering place for diverse community; where all are welcomed, inspired and transformed through the love of Christ.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: The Performing Arts Instructor will provide instruction in hula for students of all ages and levels in support of the Kroc Center Hawaii’s mission to provide quality educational programs and training in the performing arts.</p> <p>The candidate selected for this position will follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures and maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.</p> <p>The Performing Arts Instructor will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the way he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.</p> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<br/>1. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work and interact with a diverse group of people in a positive and productive manner.<br/>2. Two years dance and/or theater experience.<br/>3. Demonstrated classroom management skills.<br/>4. Must be at least 18 years of age.</p> <p>Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.</p> <p>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:<br/>1. Bachelor’s degree in Dance or equivalent experience<br/>2. Professional dance or theater experience</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:<br/>1. Provide individual and small-group instruction to students of all ages with varying artistic abilities; adjust class outlines and/or teaching approach to ensure student development<br/>2. Provide necessary lesson plans for everyone, group or program to Creative Arts &amp; Education Manager at least two weeks before class is scheduled to begin.<br/>3. Display interest, dedication, and enthusiasm for improving the community through visual and performing arts education.<br/>4. Evaluate each student’s growth, performance, and performing arts understanding. Provide corrective and positive feedback to ensure progressive development. <br/>5. Prepare individuals and groups for participation in end-of-the-session events and special performances.<br/>6. Teach all scheduled classes for everyone, group or program, beginning and ending on time.<br/>7. Improve and cultivate the performing arts skills of individuals and groups for participation in recitals, competitions, and special performances.<br/>8. Be present for and assist during end-of-session events and special performances.<br/>9. Maintain accurate attendance records and reporting procedures.<br/>10. Organize storage areas and control use of materials and equipment to prevent loss or abuse<br/>11. Prep and clean up rooms used for classes.<br/>12. Answer questions and interact with students, parents, volunteers and staff, displaying positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors and language. <br/>13. Greet, introduce and welcome participants. Acquaint new students with class procedures. Deliver the class in a fun and interesting manner. <br/>14. Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.<br/>15. Maintain regular and professional communication of class schedules, policies, updates, etc., with co-workers, students, and students’ families.<br/>16. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.<br/>17. Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.<br/>18. Attend staff and company meetings as required.<br/>19. Perform other duties as assigned.<br/><br/>MENTAL DEMANDS<br/>1.
