<span 72="">Summary:
<span 72="">Key focus area of the Senior Accountant is to prepare financial analyses and reports, partaking in month-end close, actively participate in the annual audit, manage, and maintain key operational accounting processes, and other projects and tasks as assigned by manager.
<span 72="">The Senior Accountant reports to the Head of Global Financial Services NAOR and frequently collaborates with other team members and other departments. Experience in the tobacco industry is a plus.

<span 72="">What can you expect as a Sr. Accountant at Cigars International?

Actively participated in month-end close process by preparing/approving journal entries, updating reconciliations and schedules, and providing variance analysis explanations for assigned areas.
Own monthly financial statement upload process from local ERP into Congos.
Record, reconcile, and maintain all activity related to fixed assets including processing additions, disposals, and intercompany transfers.
Prepare and maintain Marketing and Loyalty Program schedules for NAOR and prepare and record month end journal entries. Collaborate with Marketing team to ensure accuracy of schedules and appropriate recognition of expenses.
Manage compliance for all state and local excise tax returns, sales & use tax returns, licenses, and other registrations as needed for all business entities. Provide support for any state audits and inquiries.
Gain and maintain a working knowledge of the systems that support accounting for our businesses. Be the key finance lead on implementations of new systems, websites, and customer programs to ensure that financial requirements are maintained.
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations.
Assist with annual external audit by providing support for requested materials and preparing assigned schedules.
Performing other accounting duties and tasks as assigned by Manager and assisting in supporting staff accountant(s) as assigned.
<span 72="">Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MBA preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in accounting, with track record of growing responsibilities.
Working knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, IFRS, FASB
Experience in working with multiple legal entities.
Experience in ERP/Accounting systems, AX Dynamics, SAP, Cognos
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Proficient with Excel advanced functions – VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables.
Able to multitask, prioritize, problem solve and work independently.
