Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Infrastructure to join our team. We've built our platform using AWS and strive to automate every manual process we can. We are a quickly growing team focused on scaling Reverb's infrastructure while documenting our infrastructure as code.

The Infrastructure team is responsible for operating our RDS databases and Elasticsearch clusters and maintaining our infrastructure which runs on AWS and Kubernetes. We are seeking highly motivated engineers who can continue to improve and automate our infrastructure while developing tools and standards, as well as helping respond to production issues. 

This is a full-time role reporting to the Engineering Manager, Infrastructure. We are open to remote hires within multiple states but are also considering candidates located in Chicago, IL. For candidates who will work remotely visit this link for a list of approved locations.

Responsibilities

• Improve the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of Reverb’s growing infrastructure
• Debug production incidents across our services and at a variety of levels of the stack
• Anticipate future scaling needs by using historical data
• Make well-reasoned technical decisions while understanding tradeoffs
• Scope projects into milestones and deliver value quickly
• Collaborate with peers across Infrastructure, Data, and Product Engineering
• Build and operate the infrastructure that Reverb’s engineering teams use every day

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure: VPC, security groups, EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, etc
• Knowledge of the UNIX command line and common tools
• Experience debugging production issues from infrastructure to application level
• Comfort with Docker in development and production
• Experience with Terraform or similar tool such as Chef/Puppet/etc
• Major pluses: Kubernetes, Postgres, and Elasticsearch
• Preferred but not required: Redis, Datadog, CircleCI/GitHub Actions, experience with Ruby, Javascript, Go
