Senior Software Engineer, Optum Perks

Within RVO Health, Optum Perks is a suite of B2C and B2B applications and services built atop pharmacy data. You will work with modern technologies on a consumer-facing suite of apps and back-end APIs that help millions of users make their prescriptions more affordable.

In this role you will play a significant part in solutioning, designing, and developing of infrastructure as code and digital software components used across robust APIs and consumer-facing applications. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with the business, product management, and members of a remote US-based engineering team. You will apply your skills in an innovative, forward-thinking environment that follows industry best practices and fosters engineering culture.

A qualified candidate is a seasoned engineer with solid Azure experience using terraform, monitoring and alerting with preferred datadog experience, and cloud architecture experience with focus on security and stability. You develop solutions hands-on and collaborate with the Staff Engineer and stakeholders to define innovative digital solutions.

To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on a hybrid in-office work schedule. We prefer employees to work hybrid from our South Charlotte or Minneapolis office.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with product and IT stakeholders to build an understanding of systems and create infrastructure solutions to support API’s and frontends. 
• Demonstrate a strong interest in infrastructure architecture and solution design
• Recommend complex integrated solutions that fulfill business requirements and align with technology roadmaps
• Design and develop systems in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders that focus on security and system stability
• Contribute to defining technical road maps; identify technical improvement and refactoring opportunities
• Ensure that all delivered solutions adhere to industry best practices for scalability, maintainability, usability, availability, extensibility, security, and portability
• Work with geographically distributed Agile teams across the USA
• Provide accurate and timely estimates for features, user stories, and tasks
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices
• Be aware of current security trends, tools, and requirements
• Provide input to planning activities
• Participate in rotational on-call schedules as needed
• Work outside of standard office hours as needed and, on occasion, support night-time releases

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field OR equivalent experience
• 4+ years of cloud infrastructure experience in Azure
• 4+ years of experience with terraform
• 3+ years of experience as cloud architect
• 3+ years of monitoring and alerting experience
• 3+ years of working experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Software Implementation and integration experience
• Knowledge of best practices
• Working knowledge of or experience with Agile development lifecycle

Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.

• Starting Salary: $118,000 - $158,000
