Purpose

To supervise and manage nursing services personnel and unit activities within the General Medicine clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Manages clinic operations and supervises nursing service personnel.
  • Collaborates with UHS Nursing Director, Department Chief, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Chief Medical Officer, other Nurse Managers, other UHS Departments, and UHS Committees to assure efficiency and quality of patient care.
  • Collaborates with Nursing Director.
  • Provides patient care as needed to support clinic staffing.
  • Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior and excellent public relations skills in all aspects of work.
  • Participates in other activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a licensed nurse.
  • One (1) year of experience in ambulatory care, clinic setting.
  • One (1) year of experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills, professional demeanor, and interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Experience writing policy and/or procedures or can demonstrate excellent writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a varied community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective.
  • Experience using electronic medical records.
  • Experience using a PC.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • More than five (5) years of experience as a licensed nurse.
  • more than one (1) year of experience in ambulatory care, clinic setting.
  • More than one (1) year of experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • College health experience.

Salary Range

$88,000 per year

  • Lifting and moving
  • Exposure to chemicals and commercial items typically found in offices, medical clinics, and building repairs/maintenance.

Work Shift

  • Usual Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hours may vary depending on clinic needs. May be required to work occasional after hours.
