We are seeking a Professional Development Manager, reporting to the Program Director for Business Systems and Technology Solutions, is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Kindergarten Readiness Professional Development function for our Early Childhood Comprehensive Assessment System projects. In this role, you will lead and develop the technology-enhanced professional development that support the administration of the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, Early Learning Assessment and related instructional materials with a particular focus of our assessment technologies and use of assessment data.
Additionally, in this role, you will help establish a vision and strategy for our school readiness assessment initiatives that are aligned with existing and emerging priorities in the Ready for Kindergarten Online System and technology apps. You will also provide consultation in the areas of education and assessment both individually and in collaboration with others on the assessment team. You will partner with state leaders to guide work, as well as develop and deliver high quality, engaging training in face-to-face, online, and blended formats to administrators, educators, and other individuals around the assessment initiatives.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Professional Development Program Management (40%)
- Establish a vision and strategy for providing high-quality professional development for teachers, trainers, and administrators around the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment and the Early Learning Assessment, particularly in the area of technology-integration, data management, and reporting; translate that into action plans.
- Provide expertise around the KReady technologies and oversee all related professional learning development and implementation.
- Continually review the team’s professional development curriculum and other learning opportunities and improve the learning program for new needs and updates to existing systems and functions.
- Develop presentations, engaging video scripts, and teaching resources to support the needs of the projects.
- Identify and manage external resources (consultants). Monitor the professional development budget.
Project & Portfolio Management
- Apply skills and tools to effectively plan and execute projects.
- Achieve specific deliverables for each project that support identified organizational objectives.
- Manage the overall portfolio of projects by prioritizing work, allocating resources, and managing progress.
- Communicate progress with the assessment team.
Professional Development Design, Delivery, and Evaluation (40%)
- Design learning solutions via all types of modalities that are engaging and build capabilities.
- In collaboration with the assessment team, assesses the right solution for the need, timing, and partner requests, is appropriate for the stakeholder needs and budget, and provides exceptional stakeholder learning experiences.
- Incorporate contemporary learning theory and methodologies into all learning experiences.
- Manage technology-related learning content and documentation.
Delivery & Facilitation
- Oversee the delivery of formal and informal learning solutions including face-to-face training and webinars around technology, data management, and reporting.
- Build a cadre of effective internal and external trainers through skill building, feedback, and coaching.
- Support learning communities by coaching designated leaders, assisting with organization and planning, and facilitating sessions when needed.
- Leverage learning management system and appropriate delivery technologies to address specific learning needs and administer the learning program.
