About the role:

Samsara is looking for an experienced leader to grow our Product Security organization. As a Senior Manager, Security Engineering, you will be responsible  for the management of all aspects of securing our cloud, mobile and embedded software through a secure development lifecycle, including threat models, security architecture and reviews, continuous integration & deployment, and pentesting.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive application security and risk management framework.
  • Work closely with development teams to facilitate product security risk assessment and risk management processes.
  • Drive best-in-class product and application security standards and frameworks.
  • Foster a culture of secure development lifecycle, technical excellence, and engineering best practices, with respect to application security.
  • Partner with business stakeholders across the company to deliver company-wide security initiatives.
  • Create a vision and strategy for the organization and inspire team to innovate
  • Drive planning and execution for the organization.
  • Hire, develop, and grow a diverse, inclusive, engaged, and high performing organization

Minimum requirements for the role: 

  • BS/MS in information technology, computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of software development experience
  • 8+ years of experience in application and cloud security engineering, including in management roles
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, StateRamp, FedRamp and NIST CSF
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of personal integrity
  • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to drive and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary te
