Description
Christopher Community, Inc. is seeking to hire a Regional Facilities Manager as an addition to our growing team! Christopher Community (CCI) is a not-for-profit housing development and property management organization that assists low- and moderate-income individuals, families and seniors to secure quality housing across Upstate New York. We currently provide property management and maintenance to over 3,200 units in more than 100 buildings. CCI also administers the Rental Assistance Program in Onondaga County which serves over 1,200 households.

The Regional Facility Manager will report to the VP of Property Management, and will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and capital improvement planning of managed properties in the regional portfolio in working collaboratively with the Facilities team. The Regional Facilities Manager will supervise and manage the maintenance team in the regional portfolio. It is anticipated the regional portfolio will consist of approximately 24 properties featuring approximately 1,000 units. The regional portfolio will span across Upstate New York as Western, Central and Eastern Regions.
Requirements
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities and operations of the maintenance crews assigned to the properties in the regional portfolio.
- Review, prioritize, and follow-up on work orders and unit turns for efficiency and quality control.
- Conduct pre- and post-turnover inspection to prepare punch list for quality control
- Responsible for coordinating and ordering supplies in collaboration with Facilities Coordinator
- Work with Director of Facilities & Construction to conduct and complete field inspection form during each site visit, and to discuss future capital projects to identify projects and activities needed to be addressed over a 5-year to 10-year period.
- Visit each site in regional portfolio a minimum of 2x per quarter at a minimum
- Respond to emergencies and direct site staff for handling emergencies including going to site if necessary
- Perform pre-REAC inspection and be present onsite during REAC inspection
- Expected to provide hands-on assistance and training with maintenance team in regional portfolio

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree with 3 to 5 years related experience in the areas of maintenance and/or construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A four-year degree in relevant field is preferred. OSHA training is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in supervising, managing and leading teams/crews. A valid NYS driver's license is required. The Regional Facilities Manager is required to travel throughout Upstate New York to visit the CCI managed properties.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as program guidelines and rules as well as funding requests. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively to employees and building residents.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowing when to communicate to your immediate supervisor.
Miscellaneous
