Job Description

Position Summary
Assist Corrosion Control supervisors and manager with scheduling, remediation, design, planning, mapping and maintenance of cathodic protection systems that protect the company's distribution and transmission pipeline system, gate stations, plants and storage facilities. Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field personnel. Requires the ability to be on-call 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week to respond to emergencies.

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Participates in developing a qualified staff by ensuring that all training requirements within the group are performed and maintained
• Utilizes various computer applications (Smallworld, ARM/Work Manager, Pipeline Compliance System or CPDM, Optimain, Corview/Cortalk, etc.) to gather information, analyze data and produce reports, including progress, trends and forecasts
• Ensures compliance with all Federal, state and local codes and works with other departments to satisfy the corrosion control requirements of the company’s Transmission and Distribution Integrity Management Programs
• Collaborates with trade allies, corrosion contractor crews, alliance partners, designers, Corporate Engineering, Gas Supply Operations, TIMP, DIMP, and Field Operations personnel to ensure new and existing cathodic protection systems are properly installed and maintained
• Represents the Company’s interests before internal and external audiences and provides expert witness testimony, contractual negotiations, and interacts with PSC and SCC representatives
• Participates in low pressure drip surveys, water accumulation and infiltration investigations and drip water removal
• Works on special projects, as needed
• Provides oversight of contractor personnel performance and project deliverables
• At the request of the Corrosion Control Supervisor, participates in field, safety and vehicle inspections, and performs other tasks as needed
• Assists Senior Corrosion Control Specialist, as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
• High School Diploma/GED required
• 2+ Years of related natural gas industry experience, preferably related to corrosion control
• Successful completion of the Appalachian Underground Corrosion Short Course Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced examinations required
• NACE such as CP track, Corrosion Technician, or CIP track preferred
• Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to reconcile conflicting goals and priorities and to lead projects to completion
• Demonstrated working knowledge of pipeline construction, replacement, operations, maintenance, emergency response procedures and practices, Federal, state and local codes and procedure
• Demonstrated knowledge of the procedures, skills and technology used for galvanic and impressed cathodic protection systems; including experience using corrosion control equipment and troubleshooting cathodic protection systems on distribution and transmission piping
• Proven mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated planning and scheduling skills
• Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research and present business information
• Demonstrated ability to present complex ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve business problems

We offer a competitive salary range of $62,000 to $90,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
