- Researches, tracks, analyzes, compiles and reports findings pertaining to assigned special projects.
- Drafts and creates written reports, memos, one-pagers, and PowerPoint presentations on findings, problems and solutions.
- Keeps constant communication with other stakeholders.
- Participate in staffing & support responsibilities (individually or as a group).
- Manages special projects as assigned.
- Represents the County Judge at meetings or events.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, or related field.
- 1 year job related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, department and elected officials.
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Skills and/or knowledge of the following:
- Basic supervision principles; relationships between local, state and federal governments, public interest groups and private enterprise.
- Principles of public administration, organization, and management.
- Methods of performing complex administrative, organizational and procedural analyses.
- Methods and procedures of public finance and budgeting.
- Detailed organizational and functional structure of County government.
- Principles of long-range financial planning and financing methods and practices of local governments.
- Local, state and federal laws, regulations and procedures affecting functions of the County.
- Supervise and/or direct the work; independently research, analyze and make effective recommendations on administrative, management, budgetary and fiscal practices, procedures and problems.
- Prepare, negotiate and administer contracts; Contract management.
- Research, compile and analyze statistical and other complex data.
- Write complex reports in a logical, comprehensive, concise manner.
- Prioritize workload efficiently, without direct instruction, to meet deadlines under changing conditions.
- Exercise initiative.
- Facilitate, coordinate and negotiate between staff members of different County and non-County departments and offices.
- Acquire subject matter expertise in program specific projects.
- Initiate and develop efficient, cost-effective policies.
- Prepare reports and present ideas orally and in writing.
- Win and maintain confidence and cooperation of others and establish and maintain effective relationships on projects.
- Computer experience and technical experience in support of various software programs.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications
