About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Principal Product Manager with a track record of over 5 years in product management to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Scopus, a flagship product for Elsevier.

You will be part of an awesome squad responsible for a key Scopus user journey, responsible for prioritizing most impactful works to maximize user satisfaction and commercial outcomes. Your deep understanding of the market and customers, along with your ability to bring rapid prototyping with data and technology, is essential.

In addition, you will be a driving force in forming and executing the product strategy, translating high-level objectives into actionable plans, and overseeing their implementation.

As the representative of the product team, you will lead and facilitate extensive company-wide alignments. This will involve collaborating with various teams as well as senior stakeholders to ensure that the product aligns with the broader company strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute the overall product strategy.
  • Cross-functional leadership, driving alignments across various internal teams.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders on key initiatives.
  • Represent the team in internal meetings and customer conferences.
  • Lead quarterly and annual planning and prioritization.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the product management team and work toward improving them.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience or equivalent, with a proven track record of business growth.
  • Deep understanding of customer and business requirement (or have relevant experience in an industry with similar dynamics, as this will serve as the foundation for quickly learning about customer and business requirements).
  • Ability/experience of defining and executing a product strategy, including the customer discovery process and GTM strategy.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to represent the team effectively.
  • Strong analytical capability to use data and experiments to drive decision making
  • Experience in working in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to coach other team members.
