Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
Carefully plan meals to ensure that residents’ food needs are being met.
Purchase food to follow posted menus and standardized recipes.
Oversee food inventory by monitoring for proper food temperature, rotating, and storing food properly to eliminate waste.
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment after meals.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
Verify that prepared food meets the requirements for quality, quantity, and any dietary needs.
Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
Requisition food products, check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality.
Record supply usage for inventory and records.
Supervise and provide direction for other Cooks at LWH.
Ensure that food safety guidelines are followed, including sanitation and health & safety standards.
Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure.
Maintain standards of confidentiality of Lifeways’ clients and records.
Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with Lifeway’s policies/procedures, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1-3 years’ experience in food service
Valid driver’s license
Successful completion of background check and drug testing
Current CPR certification
AVADE training completion within 90 days of hire
