We are seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our Farmington Hills, MI team.

This role involves the development of electrical systems and components for various mechatronic parts, including sunroofs, power back door systems, and seat memory components. The successful candidate will lead and manage Quality, Cost, and Timing (QCT) for assigned projects, collaborating with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and the global Nissan Research & Development (R&D) team.

A Day in the Life:

  • Responsible for designing and releasing electrical systems and components to meet program cost, quality, development, and delivery timing targets.

  • Manage development schedules and implement cost-reduction strategies.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and the Nissan R&D team to ensure vehicle safety performance, network performance, and system functionalities.

  • Lead the Americas region in your area of responsibility, providing regional requirements to the Nissan R&D team.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Experience in electrical design and/or testing within the automotive industry.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of directly related professional-level engineering experience, including co-ops and internships.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science or Masters in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of automobile electronics and vehicle communication networks such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.

  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering methods and approaches.

Physical Requirements:

Travel:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

  • Up to 15% of domestic and/or international travel.

Overtime:

  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary to complete the job.
