Job Description

  1. Lead CIP project initiatives in cooperation with all levels of the organization at suppliers to prevent future quality and/or delivery escalations from Bosch stakeholders (receiving plants, business units and final customers of Bosch).
  2. Develop strategy in cooperation with suppliers that are in Bosch supplier escalation programs to achieve agreed upon exit criteria and bring stability to volatile situations related to excessive delivery and/or quality complaints from 1 or multiple Bosch plants/stakeholders.
  3. Coordinate with other Bosch resources for problem solving and special projects as needed to bring about necessary improvements at troubled or non-troubled suppliers in need of assistance for CIP.
  4. Communicate to all levels of Bosch organization internally, as needed, during escalation topics to ensure satisfaction of stakeholders with proper evidence of action at/from supplier to bring control over critical situations
  5. Independently manage assigned suppliers to avoid further escalations and quality problems through regular onsite visits, Bosch Value Stream Basics assessments, VDA Audit participation and problem-solving support.
  6. Contribute to achievement of Policy Deployment targets for M/PQT-NA
  7. Position involves frequent need to deal with people from other departments of similar levels, or sometimes superior levels, making coordination agreements, giving and receiving information. Position involves the need to coordinate, communicate, follow up and negotiate important aspects that affect areas other than that of the position holder. Position involves frequent interaction (face-to-face, Teams, email, etc. with people from other global departments (Purchasing, Engineering, Customer Quality, Manufacturing, etc.) to adapt their priorities and programs to those of the position holder.
  8. Position involves external relationships and relationships with suppliers giving and receiving information and carrying out administrative procedures. Position involves frequent need to deal with authorities, managers or company representatives whose level is higher than the holder of the position. Position involves frequent need to negotiate with people external to the company, representing the Company within the norms and general policies that impact on the image and costs of the Company.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent domestic and international travel required (30-40%)
  • Ability to perform work and deliver results in the fast pace automotive environment
  • Ability to perform work in flexible working environments and conditions
  • Ability to perform work in various office and manufacturing environments:
  • Work is carried out in remote locations (home office, airport, supplier, Bosch office)
  • Work is sometimes carried out in factories or plants that have some unpleasant aspects such as noise, smoke, dust, heat, etc.
  • Ability to perform work while seated, standing or walking

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations and/or Quality Management, Leading projects and teams, CIP efforts, and Problem Solving
  • 1+ years of experience with quality system methodologies such as 8D, Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, DFMEA, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, Auditing (VDA 6.3, IATF 16949
  • 2+ years of experience in structured problem solving (Shainin Red X, Kepner-Tregoe, 6-Sigma, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (i.e., mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering)
  • Experience in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements and optimization projects focusing on quality, technical and organization losses
  • Understanding of manufacturing metrics (i.e. OEE, Productivity, etc.) and proven ability to drive CIP projects to improve these metrics on the manufacturing floor
  • Plastic injection molding/tooling experience
  • Experience in manufacturing of automotive components for tiered or OEM customers
  • Ability to assess manufacturing defects and systematically solve complex technical failures
  • Proven ability with scrap reduction projects in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and other applications.
  • Proficient skills in data modeling, data analysis and data mining.
  • Strong organizational and project managemen
