We need a Field Force Investigator to join our Counter Fraud Services department in an on-the-road role 5 days a week covering West London and the M4 corridor (Slough, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Reading, Newbury, Swindon, Bath and Bristol)

You should reside near West London as the role covers this region. You’ll need to use your own car (mileage will be reimbursed) and occasionally visit the office in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, for team collaboration.


The Field Force Investigator is responsible for gathering and collating evidence to reduce our exposure to fraud. The role would include conducting enquiries required to develop criminal investigations that may be needed on Claims and Application cases. Working closely with all Counter Fraud teams to support the counter fraud services business plan and assist the Financial Crime Prevention Manager implement strategies to reduce exposure to internal fraud.

Analytical: You’ll have an ability to analyse data to detect patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraud.

Report writing: Documenting your findings clearly and accurately to support legal proceedings and analysis

What’s involved:

  • Gather, sort, and analyse evidence to identify where fraud is suspected
  • Collate, verify, and assess all appropriate and available information to gain an accurate understanding of situations to an agreed investigation plan.
  • Identify and interview key witnesses using best practice.
  • Obtain statements.
  • Conduct desktop investigations.
  • Engage with Police and other Law Enforcement agencies to ensure full understanding of current criminal modus operandi.
  • Develop relations within the Industry to maintain knowledge of current trends and best operational approaches.
  • Prepare, complete and submit evidential bundles of high quality to support criminal prosecutions, within agreed set time limits.
  • Conduct low level surveillance deployments to assess locations and/or persons of interest.
  • Ability to dynamically risk assess all deployments according to agreed current working practices.
  • Assist SIU fraud investigations.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity whilst conducting all investigations.
  • Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times
  • Ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.
  • Any other reasonable duties


Experience & knowledge:

  • Previous experience within a criminal investigations team and preferably from a police background
  • Experience with financial crime investigations
  • Experience with application fraud investigations.
  • Experience with claim fraud investigations
  • Strong knowledge of economic crime investigations
  • Knowledge of motor application fraud
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements

  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
