Key Responsibilities

• Managing bridge design projects and project teams
• Apply diversified engineering principles and practices to our bridge engineering operations in Ohio 
• Preparing project documents and developing cost estimates
• Design work, using MicroStation, as well as client-facing interactions with a potential for some business development and project manager responsibilities
• Performing basic and complex engineering calculations, including construction quantities
• Performing load ratings of bridges and other structures
• Performing seismic analysis using 3D finite element modeling software
• Checking calculations and designs produced by other team members
• Collaborating with other engineers to identify the appropriate design criteria to perform minor, major, and complex bridge design and load rating assignments
• Perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on project
• Perform the duties of a Project Engineer, stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
• Registered Ohio Professional Engineer (PE).  
• 10+ years of related Bridge Design experience.  
• Experienced with bridge design software and development of detailed bridge plans.
• Experience/ familiarity with Microstation or Civil 3D.
• Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
