Limestone: 1st shift Twisting Shift Technician

Primary Duties:  Repair idle spindles and breakdowns and perform style changes.

 

Tools Required:   Complete set of hand tools, necessary gauges, Company issued lock out/tag out, steel toe shoes, hand roller picker, utility knife, cut resistant glove, OSHA approved air nozzle for compressed air, respirator, safety glasses, and ear plugs.

 

Materials Used:   Yarn, machine parts, lubricants

 

Supervision Exercised:   None; receives instructions from Supervisor, Yarn Mill Technical Manager, or Yarn Mill Manager. 

 

Job Procedures:

1. Follow all established Plant Safety rules.
2. Follow daily inspection routine on assigned machines.  Make sure that machine speeds and air pressures are set correctly.  Check oil glass and inspect drafting components.
3. Blow off twisting frames once per week. 
4. Repair idle spindles on twisters.  Record any issues on the Twisting Tech Report (YARNMILLFORM052).
5. Perform style changes.
6. Repair breakdowns.
7. Fill in for operators when needed.
8. Perform quality checks after a style change.  Fill out Style Change Authorization form and turn in to Yarn Mill Manager.
9. Assist other Technicians when needed.
10. Perform all other duties as directed by management.
