The Principal Project Engineer is a recognized leader in both program management and the technical aspects of manufacturing technology and processes, specifically for new product introduction (NPI) and maintenance projects. In this dynamic position, the Principal Project Engineer is responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes in collaboration with manufacturing partners. Additionally, this role involves serving as an operations program analyst, providing support to program managers.
A high standard for design for manufacturability and assembly is maintained, with the Principal Project Engineer serving as a key technical representative for manufacturing within core and extended teams. This individual remains at the forefront of emerging technologies and is accountable for meeting team commitments and achieving project contract metrics. Responsibilities may include designing and delivering manufacturing processes and equipment. The Principal Project Engineer may also lead an extended project team, which can include members from manufacturing engineering, specialists, engineers, and other functional areas, to ensure the successful development and commercialization of new products.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist Core Team Operations Representatives (CTOR) with executing test method development and validation, driving development builds, and maintaining capacity plans along with the MVR/Design Transfer.
Lead or contribute to cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop, and manage projects related to new product development and the ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes, and therapies.
Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between project management, project teams, and line management.
Create predictive models for cost, yield, and capability, and drive the implementation of action plans for improvement.
Lead meetings for the extended Operations team, including the monitoring of end-game activities.
Organize and lead Voice of Operation (VOO) events and facilitate design transfer reviews.
Work closely with Manufacturing Operations teams to ensure voice of customer and operations needs are met before transfer to manufacturing
Drive the setup and execution of SAP processes.
Lead efforts to collect and provide Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) feedback to product design teams.
Lead smaller-scale projects as the Core Team Operations Representative (CTOR).
Demonstrate an understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) with various vendors.
Lead and execute projects with minimal supervision, including the ability to plan and document project activities.
Develop mechanisms for monitoring project activities progress and prepare status report
Proactively manage risks associated with assigned projects by anticipating resource conflicts and resolving issues as they arise.
Ability to travel up to: 25% (domestic or international)
