Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team in the role of Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with specialized training and experience in functional medicine practices. This individual will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to our patients using a holistic approach that addresses the root causes of health issues.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing, to formulate individualized treatment plans.
  2. Utilize functional medicine principles to identify underlying imbalances and dysfunctions in the body's systems.
  3. Collaborate with patients to develop personalized treatment strategies focused on nutrition, lifestyle modifications, supplementation, and stress management techniques.
  4. Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures as needed to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  5. Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within the scope of practice, emphasizing natural and integrative approaches whenever possible.
  6. Provide patient education on functional medicine principles, empowering individuals to take an active role in their health and well-being.
  7. Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, including physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive and integrated treatment plans.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and correspondence with other providers.
  9. Stay current with advancements in functional medicine research and practices through continuing education and professional development activities.
  10. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  1. Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
  2. Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  3. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty area (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner).
  4. Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on functional medicine preferred.
  5. Strong knowledge of functional medicine principles, including understanding of biochemical individuality, genetic predispositions, and environmental influences on health.
  6. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive patient assessments and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and empower patients to make informed decisions about their health.
  8. Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  9. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of emerging trends and research in functional medicine.
  10. Dedication to providing compassionate and patient-centered care in a supportive and inclusive environment.
