PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Develop scalable and highly reliable product features for the PayPal Payments system. Participate in the full development lifecycle, including design, coding, automated testing, and production releases. Lead, design, and develop solutions for various technical projects. Develop the code framework and coordinate with other engineers to complete the implementation and testing. Write high-quality code, testing, and provide support during end-to-end testing conducted by designed testing teams. Provide support and maintenance after the feature/enhancement gets released. Provide technical support for existing customers. Telecommuting permitted – work can be performed from anywhere in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience using Java and spring framework for large-scale, highly scalable software development (2 years).
2. Experience with relational databases and with at least one SQL language, coupled with experience writing high-performance SQL queries capable of efficiently querying substantial datasets (2 years).
3. In-depth understanding of RESTful API and experience designing it for large-scale, highly extensible software applications (2 years).
4. Experience delivering software or features through CI/CD pipelines, effectively utilizing continuous integration and continuous deployment practices to streamline software delivery processes, and ensuring the rapid and reliable release (2 years).
5. Experience with all aspects of software development within a microservice architecture, including design, implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance (2 years).
6. Experience in the financial and/or payment industry and familiar with the relevant regulations in different regions, especially US and EU (2 years).
7. Experience in delivering features of large-scale software application in C++ (1 year).
8. Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python (1 year).
9. Experience with at least one cloud service platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and hands-on experience in the development and maintenance of applications deployed on these cloud services (1 year).
