Fire Safety and Assurance - Technical Lead

We have an opportunity for a Fire Safety and Assurance - Technical Lead to join our Building Safety team. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the ongoing development and effective delivery of the Group's Fire Safety and Assurance functions across all divisions, to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance to minimise risk and maximise safety and ensure that best practice is employed across the Group.
As the Fire Safety and Assurance - Technical Lead, you will manage the day-to-day activities of the Fire Safety Advisor team and be responsible for setting the Group Fire Safety policy and procedures. You will also be involved in the Assessing and appraisal of External wall systems (Cladding), providing technical expertise and assurance across the Group.
The role of Fire Safety and Assurance - Technical Lead will include:
- Oversee the provision of clear guidance, advice and support on technical Fire Safety and Assurance building safety regulatory and compliance practice to ensure compliance with Group policy, relevant legislation and best practice in order to minimise risk to the organisation.
- Manage the technical delivery of all Fire Risk Assessments of external wall systems in collaborationist with senior colleagues in Technical Building and Fire Safety.
- Create, develop and implement policy and procedure to ensure the Group complies with current fire safety legislation and best practise guidelines.
- Manage and develop effective relationships with internal and external customers, such as building professionals, consultants, compliance assessors, asset surveyors, Development and resident groups ensuring staff are aware of and comply with their fire and building safety obligations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate fire safety and building safety frameworks, plans, policies and processes
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Degree level qualification in Fire Engineering, IFE Fire Risk Assessor Qualification Level 4 or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Complex building Fire Safety and Engineering
- Proven experience in assessing complex built environment remediation works to determine statutory fire safety risks and control measures
- Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
- Detailed knowledge of the Building Safety act and reporting requirements
- Proven experience of managing staff in a high stress environment
- Significant experience of assisting development teams during the planning of major and minor works to identify fire safety impacts
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
