Summary
The Installation Field Manager – Residential Flooring oversees the pre-installation preparation, execution, and completion of flooring projects across residential and commercial job sites. This role ensures all installations meet the highest quality standards while aligning with builder requirements and customer expectations. The Field Manager will manage installation crews, maintain job site efficiency, and uphold safety and compliance standards.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and manage flooring installations on job sites, ensuring quality control and adherence to project timelines.
- Coordinate with independent contractors and installation crews to ensure timely and accurate project completion per builder specifications.
- Track and manage flooring materials, verifying quantities and ensuring proper handling for high-quality installations.
- Conduct on-site inspections to confirm installation quality, address deficiencies, and resolve issues proactively.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols to maintain a secure job site environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for builders, contractors, and internal teams, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
- Provide training and mentorship to field team members and subcontractors, ensuring consistency in installation standards.
- Assist the Customer Service Department with field-related inquiries and issue resolution as needed.
- Document and report on project progress, installation quality, and contractor performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project success.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in flooring installation across multiple materials, including tile, wood, vinyl, and carpet.
- Prior experience managing a team or crew in a construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, builder communications, safety regulations, and installation guidelines.
- Strong mathematical skills to calculate area, linear feet, yardage, and square footage for material takeoffs.
- Proficiency in basic computer systems, handheld devices, and project management software.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with builders, contractors, and internal teams.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license for site visits and field travel.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods while working in construction environments.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate-weight materials or equipment as needed.
Work Environment
- Primary work is conducted at residential and commercial job sites with occasional office-based tasks.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, construction noise, and active job site environments.
