Position Overview
With the guidance of the Manager, Financial Analysis & Shared Processes and Controller, the Sr. Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis, internally and externally. This position is responsible for ensuring that the data being presented in the financials is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and for ensuring proper and fair revenue recognition. This position prepares financial statements used to assess company performance. And this position analyzes and interprets financial data to advise and support strategic decision making and to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to key RSCI associates.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to parent company for consolidation purposes
- Assist in adding new GL accounts and billing codes to continually improve reporting and accuracy.
- Ensure assigned month end close responsibilities are completed timely and accurately.
- Research and respond to questions and provide account analysis on GL account and financial statement line-item fluctuations.
- Identify trends and areas of improvement. Initiate action steps with various departments.
- Assist departments with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Prepare schedules and reporting for annual financial statement audit
- Initiate budget preparations with department heads and assist the Controller with budget consolidation and reporting.
- Review current backlog and trends, and assist with preparing monthly forecasts.
- Provide any financial reporting and forecast reports for all departments, such as revenue, product margin, and backlog reports.
- Oversee and review revenue recognition & costing for transactions involving new equipment sales and systems projects sales.
