About the Team: The Analytics team in Banking Technology Development is dedicated to driving insights and value from our vast array of data assets. Our team collaborates across multiple business units, leveraging advanced analytics, data visualization, and effective data storytelling to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our Analytics team. This role will be pivotal in harnessing data to provide actionable insights, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of leveraging data to influence business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
· Data Analysis and Insights:
o Transform and prepare new and existing data sets so that they can be leveraged in analytical models.
o Conduct complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
o Utilize statistical techniques and advanced analytics to build predictive models and support strategic initiatives.
· Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, HR, development and finance, to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
o Use data storytelling to effectively present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
· Data Management and Integrity:
o Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing best practices for data governance, cleansing, and validation.
o Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for efficient data processing and analysis.
· Innovation and Improvement:
o Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies in data analytics and fintech.
o Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within the analytics function.
Qualifications
· Education:
o A bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
· Experience:
o Demonstratable experience delivering significant cross-functional benefits through analytical projects.
o Experience delivering value on projects with data of poor or unknown quality.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, (experience in fintech, financial services, or technology is a bonus).
o Proven experience with data visualization tools, statistical programming software. (Experience working in Microsoft ecosystem is a bonus).
· Technical Skills:
o Expert level proficiency in SQL and experience with large-scale databases.
o Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and data mining techniques.
o Comfortable transforming data to meet requirements for analytical models.
o Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data management.
· Soft Skills:
o Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
o Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
o Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
