The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) is seeking a highly qualified individual with strong leadership skills to serve as a Senior Public Service Administrator, Option 9G who possesses a Professional Geologist License from the State of Illinois for the Bureau of Land Groundwater Unit. The successful candidate will manage the unit of professionals comprised of geologists charged with the administration of hydrogeological reviews required by the Bureau of Land Permit Section. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, set priorities for their units, and ensure project reviews are completed within regulatory timeframes. Essential Functions

  • Serves as the Groundwater Unit Manager/ Licensed Professional Geologist, administering the duties of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Units to facilitate accurate and consistent production within the Bureau of Land (BOL) Permit Section:
  • Licensed Professional Geologist serves as a Groundwater Unit Manager for the Permit Section, Groundwater Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Units, planning, and directing the unit as a full-line supervisor to staff through Subordinate Manager(s).
  • As Licensed Professional Geologist, performs various technical and scientific duties;
