About the role

Nemours is seeking a Manager, Research Biostatistics to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.

 

The Manager, Research Biostatistics plays a pivotal leadership role in the Biomedical Research Informatics Center (BRIC) at Nemours, serving as a key driver of biostatistical excellence, research innovation, and study design support. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate on groundbreaking biomedical research across the Nemours enterprise and with external partners, including the University of Delaware INBRE and PEDSnet research communities.

The Manager of the Research Biostatistics Core will lead a highly skilled team of biostatisticians, ensuring high-quality, compliant statistical analyses throughout the research lifecycle, from study design consultation to final data interpretation. A critical component of this role involves actively supporting study teams in designing robust research protocols, identifying key variables, and applying appropriate statistical methodologies.

Additionally, the manager will coordinate closely with the Clinical Research Data Analytics, Research Data Infrastructure, and Bioinformatics Cores to ensure seamless integration of services, efficient handoffs, and a streamlined research experience for investigators. The manager will contribute to shaping the strategic direction of the BRIC through the development of procedures and policies, resource allocation, and long-term planning.

This position reports directly to the Chief Research Informatics Officer and serves as a key member of the BRIC leadership team. It provides an exciting platform to influence the future of pediatric health research by supporting a diverse array of clinical studies aimed at improving health outcomes for children.

 

Requirements

 

Bachelor Degree required (preferably in computer science, engineering or health information).

Advanced or Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of biostatistics experience is required

Experience with health-related data is preferred 

 

Additional consideration will be given to applicants with experience in:

  • Collaboration with research scientists and clinician researchers
  • Requirements gathering 
  • Technical communication (writing and oral presentations, documentation of code)

Previous experience in recruiting, mentoring, and supervision of biostatisticians
