Purpose

The Employee Health Nurse Manager will oversee and manage the employee health program within UT Health Austin, Dell Medical School. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring programs that promote employee health and wellness, minimize occupational risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management and Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate employee health and wellness programs, including immunization, health screenings, and disease prevention initiatives.

  • Occupational Health and Safety: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and work-related health issues, implementing preventive measures where necessary. Will participate in Safety Committee meetings.

  • Clinical Services: Provide or coordinate clinical care for employee health-related issues, such as first aid for workplace injuries, screenings, vaccinations, and post-exposure follow-up. Oversee the annual influenza vaccination program and other required immunizations for healthcare employees.

  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records, ensuring timely documentation of services provided. Analyze and reports on occupational health metrics, trends in employee health, compliance and program outcomes.

  • Staff Supervision and Training: Manage and supervise the employee health team, including any nurses, coordinators and assistants; providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.

Required Qualifications

An active Texas or compact state RN license. Active BLS certification. A minimum of five years of nursing experience, with at least two in occupational health or employee wellness. Strong leadership and organizational skills; knowledge of occupational health principles and practices.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN). Experience in acting within a nursing supervisor capacity (i.e. Supervisor, Charge or Manager). Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or other relevant certification preferred.

Salary Range

$115,000+ depending on qualifications
