Hardware Engineer II/Hardware Engineer Senior
We are seeking a Hardware Engineer II that will be expected to team with peers, internal customers, and management to strengthen the capabilities of the end-customer to achieve operational excellence and program success. While this position is an individual contributor role, collaboration and solid technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and test new integrated circuits and hardware components for signal processing applications.
- Design, develop and document code (including firmware) for digital signal processors or other programable hardware devices such as ASICs and FPGAs.
- Analyze the function of existing integrated circuits and hardware components for the purpose of reverse engineering the hardware and firmware.
- Conduct the necessary hardware procedures to modify and adapt vendor hardware to meet special customer needs.
- Conduct design analysis on components and assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be manufactured and perform reliably.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

What You’ll Need:
- Hardware Engineer II - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.
- Hardware Engineer Senior - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Current TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required.
- A self-starter approach, striving for excellence in work and innovation in methods to keep the end-customer’s missions successful.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
