Abby’s Aircraft Catering began in 1980 by providing individuals abroad their chartered, corporate and private executive aircraft with a fine dining experience. In addition to meeting the daily needs of multiple aviation requests for in-flight catering, Abby’s provides food service management for corporate and institutional restaurants throughout the southwest as well as catering countless events and banquets annually. 

Description: 

The Purchasing Associate, reporting to the Lead Buyer, will play a crucial role in the purchasing of all required food products and supplies according to company specifications via approved suppliers. This role involves managing inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery for production needs, and adapting to menu and cycle changes. The Purchasing Associate will also play a key role in forecasting and inventory optimization.

Requirements

 · Ensure accurate quantities of food, beverage, and operational materials.

· Utilize forecasting methods based on trends and demand to maintain optimal inventory levels.

· Maintain a record of daily requisitions, and conduct daily audits to avoid errors.

· Ensure purchase requisitions and orders are accurate and comply with company policies.

· Ensure compliance with relevant programs, policies, and specifications are in line with corporate standards.

· Meet monthly KPIs related to Days-on-Hand, Food Cost, and Materials.

· Engage in inventory processes to ensure materials are correctly managed and inventoried.

· Support special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.

· Able to work in a cold environment (41 F cold room) daily for an extended amount of time

· Flexible to work rotating shifts, including holidays, weekends, and overtime, as needed

· Ability to read and interpret loading instructions, diagrams, and food menu specifications

· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills required

· Well-versed in Microsoft Office

· Knowledge of food and hygiene standards

· Airline Catering industry knowledge is a plus
