Summary
Position supports packaging annual spend of roughly $200 million, oversite for inventory management of ~11,000 bakery item combinations and ~80 suppliers across all 45 bakery locations. The position supports seven packaging team members.
Supports the planning and analysis requirements of the Packaging team, through the use of analytical skills to promote well-informed, fact-based decisions. Ensure integrity of all Procurement master data reports. Provide continuous analytical support to buyers in the Packaging Department and bakeries, as needed, and present analyses, and recommendations to buyers. Collaborate with vendors and buyers to maintain the optimal inventory levels (weekly inventory, min/max and 4x4). Work closely with managers to provide accurate decision support tools. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality. Current scope of this position: Supporting analyses for Packaging Team; Working closely with buyers,; Create, maintain and distribute all agreed upon departmental reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually); Identify areas of concern and opportunity; Recommend and implement policy change; manage inventory reports and submit to key vendors each week; Provide database (Specright) support and file processing for the packaging database; other duties to include updating SAP contract, resolving payment/price issues with AP; Ensuring BRC compliance documents are maintained and meets audit criteria; Setting up new Vendor as required in SAP; back up graphics teams as needed. Maintains and organizes all Sox audit compliance documents and is liaison for internal/external audit and pack team. Manages PL packaging for onboarding new customers and packaging compliance collaboration between BU, Sales and Packaging graphics tower. Manages customers databases for requirements related to packaging specifications. Compiles packaging sustainability data for corporate annual reporting.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create weekly inventory reporting and provide analysis for replenishment and ensuring inventory min/max levels are maintained.
- Provide assistance and service to operating plants in support of their needs.
- Provide data management support to procurement team and individual bakery locations.
- Gather, organize, analyze, and interpret replenishment data.
- Seek pattern recognition from category data to apply toward efficiency improvements relative to project management and inventory replenishment.
- Create, manage, and manipulate Excel and other databases for various complex and dynamic reporting needs.
- Work closely with packaging vendors in support of vendor managed inventory programs.
- Work with plant inventory fulfillment teams to ensure that they can order, receive, and pay for the respectively managed raw materials on a timely and accurate basis.
- Manage the respective suppliers on issues related to maintaining an uninterrupted supply of raw materials to bakery locations including the establishment of business continuity plans.
- Ensure that business processes being used support accurate data input into SAP at all levels of the organization.
- Set up new vendors to supply existing materials.
- Manage process for audit compliance and is liaison between pack team and internal/external audit
- Collaborate with BU, Sales and Packaging graphics to ensure pack compliance and onboarding of new and existing PL customers
- Manage pack specs data for PL customer databases
- Work on special projects for VP Procurement – Packaging Sourcing or others on the Procurement Leadership Team.
