General Description and Classification Standards:

The Office of Fleet Services Data Reporting Analyst Sr. (G.19) will serve as a key knowledge worker driving and leading critical initiatives for the department. This is a strategic and analytical position responsible for supporting Fleet Services leadership on all operational engagements, technical initiatives, and key projects. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the detailed completion of all standard work or assigned tasks in an organized, professional fashion. Effective communication is crucial to keep all parties engaged and working towards common goals. Additionally, the role involves organizing reporting, planning meetings, and providing updates accordingly. Clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing, is essential, as well as establishing and maintaining effective working relationships for the benefit of the organization.

 

Supervision Received:

This position receives guidance regarding the overall mission, short and long-term objectives, scheduling, and unusual priorities. The Analyst is expected to structure their workday to accomplish established goals independently. The role can work independently or as part of a team that collaborates on key initiatives and explores critical technologies for operational progress. Direction received is very general and focuses on strategic objectives and is typically collaborative. This is a G19 level position.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Commit to working harmoniously with others in the department and other organizations, ensuring that day-to-day activities are handled effectively.

- Develop recommendations to streamline processes, improve resource allocation, and leverage technology. 

May make presentations of periodic reports or special projects to organizational management.

- Work on cross-functional projects and initiatives using analytical techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.

- Perform various coordinating tasks, like scheduling and risk management, along with administrative duties like maintaining documentation and proper filing structures.

- Possess excellent time management and communication skills to collaborate with external and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.

- Recognize trends that impact the organization and prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions to drive operational efficiency.

- Assume responsibility for maintaining the accuracy of assigned operating records and/or databases.

- Identify processes or reporting functions that do not provide the necessary level of completeness, detail, or accuracy.

- Design standard report formats based on organizational needs for information. Write queries in the appropriate reporting language.

- Retrieve and summarize data from various information systems for inclusion in research or operating reports. 

Review monthly operating statistics and operating data and prepare operating reports.

- Participate in internal and external research projects by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing results. Generate reports, presentations, graphics, forms, and other documents to demonstrate information flow and project results.

- Manage the vendor dashboard, overseeing team activities related to scheduling, monitoring, and maintaining fleet operations.

 

Decision Making:

- Provide input regarding decisions that impact projects and initiatives.

- Follow standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

- Apply organizational policies and recommend strategy or policy changes.

- Provide guidance as required to less experienced staff, interns, temporary employees, etc.

 

Leadership Provided:

This role does not have formal supervisory authority over a specified work group.
