The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Associate, Transportation

LA28’s Associate, Transportation will support the identification, specification, implementation, and delivery of stakeholder transportation services. The focus of this role will be on workforce transportation, a critical component of the Games Mobility and Transportation Plan. 

Workforce transportation services are defined as those provided to Olympic and Paralympic workforce stakeholders as part of LA28’s obligations under the International Olympic Committee’s award of the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role requires both technical knowledge of transportation operations and strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with Games stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess strong communication abilities. The Associate, Transportation will report directly to LA28’s Sr. Manager, Transportation, and work closely with leaders across LA28’s Functional Areas. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of transportation-related Service Level Agreements with Games Stakeholders 
  • Assist in developing, editing and refining the Games Mobility and Transportation Plan 
  • Support the design and creation of key transportation deliverables to be circulated publicly 
  • Manage schedules and organize internal and external meetings, conference calls, and events, ensuring that all logistics are planned and executed seamlessly. 
  • Assist in monitoring overall Games transportation milestones and deliverables, as well as assist in providing progress reports and updates to FA leadership and/or the Games Mobility Executives 
  • Provide technical assistance for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting transportation data to optimize logistics operations, improve efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. This will be both spatially (via GIS) as well as via spreadsheet applications & other data visualization tools.
