R&D 5G Core Software Developer

Nokia of America Corporation, R&D 5G Core Software Developer (Multiple Positions), Naperville, IL. 
SALARY RANGE: $144,560 – $190,828 per year

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) 

Perform software design for call processing and cloud development supporting Nokia core 5G products and platforms. Perform software coding in C/C++ languages for call processing development. Integrate and debug development on call processing software that meets 5G and 4G-LTE 3GPP standards, protocols, and associated interfaces. Assist with implementation, testing, and support of complex 5G inter-system interfaces, including Network Repository Function (NRF). Support real time call processing needs for systems running at or over capacity in a cloud system running Openstack, VMware, or Kubernetes. Perform call processing collision development, integration and testing at load on a 5G MME/AMF and SMF/CMG products. Develop and deploy numerous large-scale products using cloud technologies. #LI-DNI

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience. 

 

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience with the following: software design and developing large-scale commercial software products.

 

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: C/C++programming in call processing and cloud development areas for telecommunication products; 5G core infrastructure development; Core underlying tech stacks, including UNIX/Linux operating system, IP networks and SQL; and Support real time call processing for systems running at or over capacity in a cloud system running Openstack VMware, or Kubernetes. 

 

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Modern telecommunications protocols and technologies, including 3GPP standards, Global System for Mobile communications (GSM), Code-division multiple access (CDMA), Universal mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), and 5G technologies; and Role and interface specifications used by core 5G telecommunications element including Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), Session Management Function (SMF), and User Plane Function (UPF).

 

Domestic travel required up to 10%. 

 

International travel up to 10% required.
