PROJECTS SPECIALIST – 70900450
This advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in the Office of Human Resource department.
Salary: $18.00 per hour
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Maintain accurate records, documents, and files related to the museum's establishment process.
- Conduct research on museum best practices, design trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data and information to inform decision-making related to museum design and coordination.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop the museum's layout, aesthetics, and thematic concepts.
- Ensure alignment between design plans and the museum's mission, vision, and goals.
- Coordinate the selection and procurement of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in project expenditures.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address unforeseen issues.
- Monitor project progress and address any deviations from established plans or objectives.
- Plan and coordinate special events, fundraisers, and exhibitions related to the museum's establishment.
- Document project milestones, achievements, and lessons learned for future reference.
- Works closely with the staff in the institutions to ensure projects are completed timely.
- Event planning and coordination.
- Monitors outstanding projects and provides updates.
- Conducts research related to all Human Resources projects.
- Develops presentations for members of Executive Leadership. Knowledge of basic project management principles and practices to effectively plan and execute a given mission.
- Knowledge of museum operations, including design, collections management, visitor services, and basic conservation practices.
- Experience in learning and operating collections databases (such as Microsoft Access or a similar application).
- Knowledge of design concepts, aesthetics, and spatial planning to coordinate the development of museum layouts, exhibits, and thematic elements.
- Ability to work autonomously to translate concepts into actionable plans and specification proposals.
- Skilled in the use of project planning tools, Microsoft Office, and other contemporary office equipment, and technology solutions.
- Knowledge of Direct Support Organizations.
- Skills in time management, organization, and skills in providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to pay attention to detail, utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, compose professional correspondence, work well in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure; and ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
