Job Description

The RCM Business analyst position is a key position in our Revenue Cycle Management operations team focused on evolving our reporting and analytics as it relates to customer performance and department financial performance. This individual will be responsible for leading current key management and customer reporting & assist in significantly enhancing this area to provide more meaningful analysis & process improvements. This person will obtain a deep understanding of our operational processes and leverage data to identify key areas of improvement. This person will also serve as a connection between operations and finance by driving monthly revenue forecasting and labor modeling for the RCM team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

  • Compiles and analyzes customer performance information monthly to provide detailed view of current performance, analysis on variances to goals, and business insights to drive operations activity/improvements.   
  • Measure Effectiveness Operations Initiatives – Help define and evolve predictive operational metrics for the team by establishing tracking metrics and continuous feedback with cross functional partners. Collaborate with the RCM leadership team to inform decision-making with critical success metrics.
  • Sets targets with leadership and monitors performance and produces regular reporting of operational metrics to achieve customer performance targets.
  • Provides variance analysis of budget vs. actual financial results for RCM, highlighting drivers behind significant discrepancies and material variances.
  • Responsible for building RCM revenue forecast by customer as well as managing labor staffing models
  • Provides analysis of operations and financial data, including but not limited to specialty, brand, customer reporting, trend analysis, proformas, forecasts, staffing model.
  • Conducts research and analysis on key projects or initiatives and provides business insights to operations leadership.
  • Performs analysis of data and situations with a variety of factors.  
  • Understanding of all areas of Revenue Cycle Management.  
  • Identifies opportunities for business and process improvements. 
  • Ability to leverage analytics tools and analytics technology to produce dashboards and other key reports.
  • Analyze data for anomalies, trends, and opportunities for improvement by workflow changes or technology.  
  • Coordinate and execute service activities, including but not limited to system configuration reviews, gathering and compiling data for stakeholder meetings, maintaining customer files, root cause analysis, and Ad Hoc reporting requests. 
  • Able to work and manipulate large quantities of data on multiple technology platforms and provide results in presentable format.  
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders on matters requiring interpretation. May require communication with parties outside the organization to assist in the influence of new concepts, ideas, and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or equivalent work experience.  
  • Field of Study: Statistics and Operations Research, Economics, Finance, or related field. 
  • Budget/forecast, staffing model, customer performance analysis experience, strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management  
  • System experience with VisiQuate is strongly preferred. 
  • Developing professional expertise and skills.  
  • Requires practical knowledge of technical discipline typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.  
  • Resolves several routine issues by applying standard company policies and procedures.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
