Job Description
This is an entry-level Production Test Technician position that performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Follow methods and procedures from drawings, diagrams and test plans. May complete rework on assemblies and / or systems as a result of testing. Job Duties
- Acquire all established health and safety rules.
- Acquire job skills, and learn company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks and adherence to production plan schedules while producing high quality products to standards.
- Adhere to policy and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Work on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.
- Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Work under close supervision.
- Act as a champion of the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.
- Time and attendance are in accordance with company policies, procedures and work area schedule.
- Complete work orders on schedule to ensure a constant flow of finished product to support customer service levels.
- Obtain knowledge of test methods and procedures.
- Develop understanding of typical failure modes.
- Prepare and store test certifications.
- Report nonconforming product and material following company policies and established procedures.
- Establish wired electrical connections and install specified tuning components into assemblies (hand soldering).
- Operate machinery and precision measurement equipment used in the production of ultrasound transducers.
- This position acts as the liaison to Manufacturing Operations
Evaluation of performance will be based on ability to:
- Produce quality products in accordance to standards.
- Meet established standard times for standard operations.
- Follow all applicable manufacturing procedures and documentation.
- Follow work order activities established via manufacturing reports.
- Accurately record labor time to all work order operations into the MRP system.
- Clean and maintain equipment (including tools and fixtures).
- Participate in the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.
- Time and attendance (including the accurate reporting of time and attendance)
- Maintain work area 5s standards.
- Work with Team members with mutual respect and understanding.
Job Requirements
Education:
- High School Degree or equivalen
Experience:
- Less than 1 year of related experience
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment a plus
Skills:
- Have good manual dexterity
- Computer skills and literacy
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Enjoy contributing to a diverse manufacturing group
- Able to embrace change
- Be a Team Player
- Must be a highly organized, self-managed individual who strives to work with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment
- Able to lift 20 pounds
- Additional overtime hours may be requested periodically on weekdays and weekends
Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.):
- Working hours are Monday-Fridays 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- This position requires standing and moving parts around the floor for the majority of work hours.
