Summary


Greenhill School seeks an outstanding educator for Head Boys’ Lacrosse Program, whose duties comprise of:


Coaching:  Head Boys’ Lacrosse Program

  • Encourage, train, and coach the student-athletes of the boys’ lacrosse program (Grades 9-12).
  • Work with our admission office to identify and recruit prospective student-athletes to Greenhill.
  • Collaborate on internal (on campus) recruitment and retention of lacrosse players in the program.
  • Coordinate the development and promotion of the boys’ lacrosse program (Grades 7-12) in conjunction with the mission of the school.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Athletics on hiring, retention, evaluation, and professional development of boys’ lacrosse coaching staff.
  • Schedule and organize practice sessions for Upper School boys’ lacrosse teams.
  • Schedule boys’ lacrosse games in conjunction with the Head of Athletics & Physical Education.
  • Coordinate boys’ lacrosse camp selection with families of players wishing to be more competitive.
  • Work closely with the College Counseling office in the recruitment/placement of players in NCAA men’s lacrosse programs.
  • Represent Greenhill School and the boys’ lacrosse program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS


The ideal candidate will - 

  • Manifest an earnest, active, and ongoing commitment to increasing her/his cultural competency and to valuing and respecting the myriad cultural differences among members of the Greenhill Community and beyond.  
  • Demonstrate competency with student-centered technology, an interest in advancing and supporting its use to enhance student learning, and the desire to employ technology to connect with students who learn both remotely and in-person. 
  • Have committed experience teaching and coaching.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead the boys’ lacrosse program in Upper School (Grades 9-12) with support for the Middle School (Grades 7-8) and Hornet Sports Association (Prek-6).
  • Possess the ability to lead/coach a second sport in Middle (Grades 7-8) or Upper School (Grades 9-12).
  • Show competence in effective teaching techniques and content knowledge appropriate to the teaching and coaching position.
  • plan effectively for instruction and maintain an environment for effective learning.
  • Possess leadership skills and the ability to motivate students.
  • communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Be willing to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Be committed to value teaching in a cooperative and problem-solving environment.
  • Show creative strategies for motivating students of all ability levels.

  • Agree to complete first-aid/CPR/AED certifications.

This is an exempt-level, part-time seasonal adjunct coaching position.
