Typical job functions for the Senior Principal Software Engineer:
- Participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, specify, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.
- Responsibilities include inventions and innovations of new products and technologies, from architecture and design, through integration, lab test and field test.
- Collaborating effectively with other programs and senior technical contributors, in addition to producing planning and technical work products for internal and external customers to form original solutions to complex problems.
- Developing software requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, performing simulations and analysis and testing of the software in a laboratory setting.
- Work in a fast-paced advanced product development team environment with systems and software engineers.
- This position will require occasional business-related travel.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software design, integration and test utilizing C / C++ OR similar languages.
- Experience with embedded microprocessor design, system on a chip software design, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, flash memories, block diagrams, signal analyses and signal generation.
- Experience with the application of embedded Linux, Windows or bare metal operation systems real-time applications
- Lab experience in testing of products using logic analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and system on a chip debugging tools
- Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, or Gb Ethernet
- Onsite work to support lab efforts and collaborative development.
- Clearance and Citizenship Requirement: Must have an Active/Current DoD TOP Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Some experience with software algorithm development
- Knowledge/experience with Radar technology, machine languages is highly beneficial.
- Some experience working closely and directly with the Customer
- Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment including engagement with Systems' and Electrical Engineers
- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills
