Position Summary
The Fixed Asset Intern will assist in managing the lifecycle of fixed assets at our manufacturing plant. This role supports the finance team by maintaining accurate asset records, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory standards, and collaborating with various departments to track and analyze asset activities. The intern will gain hands-on experience in fixed asset accounting, reporting, and process improvement while contributing to the operational and financial goals of the organization.Role and Responsibilities
1. Fixed Asset Management:
• Maintaining accurate records of fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Support the tagging, tracking, and physical inventory of fixed assets.
• Participate in periodic physical asset audits and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist in ensuring proper classification and valuation of fixed assets per accounting standards.
2. Month-End and Year-End Close:
• Support the preparation of fixed asset journal entries for financial close processes.
• Help reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in gathering documentation for financial reporting and audit requests.
3. Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Oversight:
• Support CapEx project tracking by monitoring budgets, spending, and documentation.
• Assist in reviewing and organizing fixed asset purchase records for compliance.
• Help ensure proper close-out of capital projects upon completion.
4. Compliance and Reporting:
• Assist in ensuring adherence to GAAP/IFRS and company policies related to fixed assets.
• Prepare and review fixed asset schedules and reports to support financial reporting.
• Help coordinate internal and external audit requests for fixed asset documentation.
5. Process Improvement:
• Contribute to the development of enhanced fixed asset management processes.
• Assist in researching and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
6. Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate asset tracking.
• Provide support for asset-related inquiries and assist departments in understanding policies.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for improving asset management.
7. All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications
Education:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Orac
