The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

Job Summary
Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer role sustaining production products. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with strong CAD skills who is eager to grow into a well-rounded design engineer. You will begin with a primary focus on CAD modeling and drafting while gaining exposure to engineering design, analysis, testing, and product development processes.This is a growth-focused position with a clear path toward a full Design Engineer role, including increasing ownership of product design and engineering decisions over time. You will report to the Design Services Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with Design Engineers, Product Design Managers, and cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities
• Investigate / troubleshoot problems and requirements of projects & develop plans for solutions.
• Apply fundamental mechanical and physics principals to support production product.
• Create design definition documents (3D models, 2D drawings) and design supporting documentation (engineering reports, test procedures, etc.).
• Manage technical risk through exhaustive identification, prioritization of risk mitigation activities, and data driven design changes where appropriate.
• Follow engineering standards and design guides and provide ideas for improving site best practices.
• Work to Design for Six Sigma and Advanced Product Quality Planning principles including Design FMEA, Process FMEA, measurement systems analysis, and process capability studies.
• Work with 8D, cause and effect diagrams for use in problem solving.
• Work as part of a team made up of other engineering or cross functional disciplines to disposition non-conforming material (NCR) and generate engineering change requests related to production product.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Engineering technology from an accredited institution.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) through coursework, internships, or projects
• Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation (coursework acceptable)
Preferred qualifications
• Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Exposure to GD&T principles and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with BOMs and revision control processes.
• Experience with ERP or PLM systems.
• Basic machining or manufacturing knowledge.
• Exposure to ASME Y14 standards.
• Interest or exposure to aerospace, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
