Responsibilities
1. Spatial Interaction Product Design
- Design the form and structure of intelligent hardware with spatial awareness capabilities.
- Plan sensor layouts and define spatial relationships for interaction interfaces.
- Optimize user experience across diverse spatial scenarios.
- Develop ergonomically natural interaction methods.
2. Multimodal Interaction Design
- Integrate multimodal interaction solutions, including visual, voice, and gesture-based inputs.
- Design adaptive interaction feedback mechanisms for dynamic environments.
- Optimize the synergy between AI perception systems and physical products.
- Innovate new paradigms for spatial interactions.
3. Intelligent Hardware Engineering Realization
- Collaborate with algorithm teams to optimize sensor integration.
- Balance aesthetic design with sensory and functional performance.
- Assess and refine the manufacturability of product designs.
- Resolve conflicts between design aesthetics and technical constraints.
4. User Research and Validation
- Conduct research on spatial interaction behaviors.
- Build experimental prototypes for validation and iteration.
- Collect and analyze user data to refine interaction experiences.
- Continuously improve the usability and intuitiveness of products.
5. Innovation Exploration and Standardization
- Investigate emerging spatial interaction technologies and applications.
- Develop a unified design language and guidelines for AI-enabled products.
- Establish evaluation criteria for spatial interactions.
- Drive cross-disciplinary innovation and collaboration.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Industrial Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in smart hardware or interaction design.
- Proficiency with industrial design tools (e.g., Rhino, Fusion 360).
- Familiarity with spatial prototyping tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
- Solid understanding of computer vision and sensor technologies.
- Strong aesthetic design and structural problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of delivering mass-produced intelligent hardware designs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AR/VR/MR device development.
- Understanding of machine learning and computer vision principles.
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, C++).
- Knowledge of human-computer interaction research methodologies.
- Patents or publications related to innovative interaction designs.
- Experience managing interdisciplinary design projects.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $266000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
